The author hunted primarily in the regions near Lake Bangweulu, and the Luangwa and Luapula Rivers in North East Rhodesia. He presents the game he collected in a chapter by chapter analysis , and includes roan, hartebeest, puku, lechwe, sitatunga, tsessbe, sable and eland. There are also excellent descriptions of hunting elephant, buffalo, hippo and rhino, as well as bagging lion and leopard near Lake Mweru.
