Learning to Spell. An Uncle Dan Bookby Irene Martyn. This book was probably published in the late 1940s to early 1950s. This was one of the books my mother used to teach with. For children aged 6 to 12 years. Each page had a picture which illustrated a sound. The pictures are outdated, of course, but it is interesting to see how gently we were led through spelling and that we were taught spelling rules in a simple way as well. Book No: 46857
