More info

Nicholas Bennett was eighteen when he decided to fill in nine months between leaving Westminster and going up to Oxford by getting to the place that seemed to him to be the most remote place in the world - Timbuktu. To raise money for his journey he first sold ice cream on a commission basis in an English circus and then obtained a part time teaching position at Prempah College, Kusami, in Ghana. This was the beginning of what must have been one of the most enterprising and uncushioned of contemporary solo journeys.

Hardcover. English. John Murray. 1966 reprint. 136 pp. Good with name inside, worn dw in protective plastic. Book No: 2504722
