Arts of the African Native by Marcel Griaule is an illustrated study of traditional African art, especially sculpture, masks, ritual objects, and symbolic design. Originally published in 1950 by Thames & Hudson, the book reflects early European ethnographic attempts to interpret African artistic traditions as serious cultural and spiritual systems rather than merely “primitive curiosities.”
