With a sketch of some of the public affairs connected with the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope, during his administration as Colonial Secretary, from 1848 to 1853. Montagu accompanied Governor Arthur to Van Diemen's Land in 1823 and remained there until he fell out with Franklin in 1842 after which he entered the administration of the Colony of The Cape of Good Hope.
